An app on a private server, with one goal a month

They arrived with the app half built. In June 2026 I put it into use on a private server I run. Each month we agree on one visible improvement, and I take care of the hosting.

The brief

The client had the tool half built. There was code and screens, but no one to finish it, put it live and stay with it. They did not want to hire a technical team or run a server. They wanted to sign in, work, and know there was a person on the other side.

What I built

I finished the app and put it into use. The client signs in with their account and works. The server is private: I run it (Docker, database, certificate). They have no infrastructure panel to look at.

  • They sign in and work. The rest (backups, monitoring, the certificate) comes with the hosting.

One goal a month

Maintenance is not a bag of hours. At the start of the month we agree on a single improvement that can be seen: a screen, a change in a flow, an adjustment that daily use has asked for. It gets done, tried with the client and closed. What does not fit waits until the next month. They know what they will get, and I do not take on work that never ends.

What changed

Since June 2026 there has been a version in use and one person to call. The client does not direct the technical work or operate the server. Each month they know what will be delivered. The fee covers the hosting and that goal.

After delivery

I host it on a private server, with backups, monitoring and up-to-date certificates. The monthly fee covers that hosting and the month's goal.
